A very good and important pair of Walnut Gainsborough Armchairs, these beautiful chairs are very generous in size and have a beautifully scooped out shepherd crook arms. The strong cabriole front legs have fantastic carved decoration to the top of the leg that leads down to a crisp ball and claw foot. The swept back legs are finished with a pad foot.
The chairs have been professionally re-upholstered!

Circa: 1745-65

Condition: A very rare, impressive and comfortable pair of English Gainsboroughs!
